To see this duplex’s transformation from three smaller apartments on Fifth Avenue to the grand family home is is today is truly awe-inspiring. The result of a collaboration between the owners, architects and designers at New York’s Workshop/APD and interior designer Jenny Stone is a stunning 348 square-metre, warm and welcoming two storey home.

The lower floor houses the foyer, two living rooms and kitchen with the three children’s rooms, two bathrooms and a media room at the back. The 17-foot travertine backed spiral staircase is the true feature of this level and curves upwards to the master suite with the most incredible Central Park views.

Throughout the home, the clever design details can be seen subtly repeated; the curve of the staircase is mirrored in the lampshade, ceiling lights and the seating. The featured soft sage green colour is found in soft furnishings and complemented perfectly by the canopy of Central Park trees close enough to touch. The calming grey and white marble counters top off the luxe elements in a space that still maintains a sense of warmth and comfort for the family of five who call it home.
